Designer & UX Developer
Catharine has worked at the BBC as a User Experience Developer and Lead in User Experience, HTML Mark Up, CSS and Accessibility.
She is passionate about ensuring that web pages are crafted with standards based semantic mark up. Combined with her background and degree in Design, she is keen to achieve pixel perfection as per the specified design and most importantly to ensure that content is accessible for all, including users of assistive technology.
Her specialist skills of writing top class semantic mark up and crafting CSS designs, while ensuring content is accessible for all have made Catharine a valued member of every team she has worked in.
In her 8 year career at the BBC, she has worked on the London 2012 Olympics Live Event products including the 'Schedule & Results' and 'Olympic Video Player', the London 2012 Olympics Portal and the Torch Relay. Prior to that she worked on the Sport website including the Sport Refresh, Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics, Commonwealth Games 2010 and Football World Cup 2010. She has also worked on News and Democracy Live and last but not least The Chelsea Flower Show.
